If I say, “You know, I don’t like [food you like],” you nod and say, “Really?  That’s actually my favorite.”

If I say, “You know, I don’t like [sporting activity you like],” you nod and say, “Really?  I do that all the time, it’s great exercise.”

If I say, “You know, I don’t like [band you like],” you turn red in the face, get all totally defensive and start practically screaming at me.
