In today’s liberating Internet age, who is comparable to Chainsaw Records in the ethos, focus and execution?
To elaborate just a bit, I think that the whole core concept of your question has to do with that ethos part more than anything else. It’s about not being self-aggrandizing, or desperately chasing popularity, or jockeying hard for hits and pageviews, or moving product to make cash, or partying all night with Steve Aoki, or being written up in the Fader.
It’s about having integrity, it’s about believing in something and being motivated by that belief.
ANYONE out there, no matter what endeavor they’re involved in (be it music, art, photography, writing, medicine, politics, WHATEVER), who does it because they believe so strongly in it; who does it because they feel compelled to do it; who does it because they’re the only ones who can do it: they’re it— they’re all “the Chainsaw Records of today.”
